Liberty. It’s not just one of the greatest aspects of living in the United States of America, it’s also the name of one of the most respected brands for personal security.
Liberty Safes are among the most popular and dependable safes you’ll find. But how did this company get started? Let’s take a look at how Liberty Safe came to be, what separates them from other safe manufacturers and the Liberty safe options you have today.
How It All Started
Jay Crosby founded Liberty Safe back in 1988 after successfully founding and running Fort Knox Safe Company. An engineer and entrepreneur, Crosby moved Liberty to a 25,000 square-foot facility just seven years after founding the company. It continued to grow over the years and is now located in a 300,000 square-foot facility in Provo, Utah, that has the ability to produce up to 700 safes a day (at peak capacity). What is now a company that employs nearly 400 Americans started out with just eight employees who built six safes a day.
Separating from the Pack
Companies today can only thrive if they deliver high-quality products and/or separate themselves from the competition. Liberty Safe does both, as it delivers some of the finest design features and technology in the industry.
Here are a few of the defining characteristics of Liberty Safe:
- Roll-form safe bodies: Thanks to an automated process and highly specialized technology, a Liberty Safe is made from a single piece of American steel forming its top, bottom and sides. This results in a stronger safe.
- Industry-leading fire protection: Liberty Safe’s certified fire testing leads the industry and is designed to mimic an actual house fire. As such, its safes are more likely to survive an actual house fire.
- Military-style locking bars: Using the same technology as the military, the locking bars on Liberty Safes keep the door tightly locked against the body.
- Exceptional customer service: The team at Liberty Safe is dedicated to answering questions and enhancing your safe knowledge before, during and after the purchase process. Any problem with the safe’s manufacturing? They’ll take care of you.
